RQH modular trailer with one and half combination got awarded the trust to move a total of nine (9) transformers from the Port of Arica,Chile to CODELCO mining site.

RQH modular trailer with one and half combination got awarded the trust to move a total of nine (9) transformers from the Port of Arica,Chile to CODELCO mining site.

Six transformers of 250 ton single weight and three transformers of 275 ton each had to be moved cross the mountain.

The transport had to take place during the rain season which made certain parts of the available roads very complicated to pass.

Especially passing the valley, with a total combination weight of over 430 ton with angles going up and down by 15 %, required absolute qualified skills of the local team and our equipment equipment.

Delivering all of these factors through inhouse experts and equipment was the reason ,and got awarded this difficult project.

The scope of the first featured transport project included the movement of 60 oversized pieces bridge beams, the larges one with dimensions of 35,000 x 3,80 x 3,30 m and weight of 70 tons.

Their second project was about the movement of a series of heavy transformers with the heaviest unit weighting 156 tons and dimensions of 8,50x 3,00x 4,00 meters. The performance of these transportations was done by bolivia client with their own special RQH modular trailers.

250t transformer on Ruiqianhe modular trailer units transported in Argentina

250 ton transformer was loaded onto a hydraulic platform trailer combination with 2 vessel cranes. This involved a Ruiqianhe vehicle combination consisting of a 18 axle line modular trailer.
The transport was carefully manoeuvered by remote control between parked cars on both sides of the street up to the entrance of the substation. This particularly narrow entrance to the facility could easily be negotiated due to the excellent manoeuverability of the Ruiqianhe and the 55°steering angle. Once at the transformer box, the load was pulled into its final position with the help of rope winches using rails which were mounted under the transformer wheels.

For the delivery of the Ruiqianhe modular trailer, no additional transportation costs are incurred. The modular traileris simply coupled to each module axles and can be both on rough terrain as well as on public roads and motorways with speeds here reaching up to 80km/h at max.
